When Karie and I first talked, she described her unique (and challenging!) dream wedding–a nighttime ceremony in a forest in northern Illinois in the winter. I think I surprised her by responding, “Sounds awesome, let’s do it!”
What unfolded on an unseasonably warm November day was moment after moment of beauty. From the rays of sunlight reflecting off of Karie’s Mori Lee gown during her and Eric’s first look, to the epic canyons of Starved Rock State Park that the wedding party hiked to (no joke!), this was undoubtedly one of the most picturesque weddings I’ve ever captured.
After grabbing a few shots in the prairie grass fields during the final golden minutes of romantic sunlight, Karie and Eric’s twilight ceremony in the woods began. Underneath the softly glowing bistro lights strung between the trees, Eric and Karie pledged their love to each other. Guests topped off the night with a cozy dinner by the fireplace and dancing in the lodge. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect day!
Karie and Eric, it was such a pleasure to be a part of your wedding. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed working with you two!
