High atop a hill in northern Kentucky, overlooking the bustling city below, a 19th-Century Bavarian Mansion proudly sits, swathed in winter spirit for Lauren and Matt’s big day. The Wiedemann Hill Mansion holds personal meaning to Lauren and Matt, so it’s hard to imagine a more perfect place for their classic, bespoke wedding. A neutral palette and tasteful details glisten among the intricate historic woodwork, while golden January light streams through the giant stained glass windows to illuminate this elegant affair.
Matt and Lauren are two of the most kind and genuine souls I’ve met, and their wedding definitely goes down in my book as one of my personal favorites ever. I can’t get over how adorable they are together, and I eagerly await to see what adventures their new life together brings them!
Friends and family–be sure to head over to Lauren and Matt’s personal wedding site to see photos from the engagement, the rehearsal dinner, and more from the wedding!

Last spring, when I first photographed Cory and Beth for their engagement session, there was no doubt in my mind that their wedding was going to be awesome. These two made sure that their big day was truly, completely, unequivocally them. You’ve gotta see their reversed ‘traditional’ colors (Beth wore black, Cory wore white), Beth’s incredible spiked heels (can you say FIERCE?!), and the hops and barley in the bouquet and boutonnieres to represent their love of craft beer! (Speaking of which… that Madtree selection at the reception… be still, my heart!)
Beth and Cory are 100% the bee’s knees, and it’s obvious that they’re made for each other–if ever there were a couple who were perfect puzzle pieces, it’s them.
Beth and Cory, I can’t wait for our craft beer and Wario Ware shindig tomorrow night. ;) And friends and family–be sure to check out Cory and Beth’s full gallery by clicking here!

Some photographers may complain about it, but I just love photographing outdoors on chilly overcast days! There’s a certain magic to the air when it smells like bonfire, and feels like it could start snowing any second. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to play with a wintery, muted, ‘outdoorsy’ palette in my editing.
Ashley’s parents’ farm in Morrow was the perfect setting for her engagement photos with Mike (and their lab-boxer mix, Rue!). I was having a photographer’s field day–tall trees, frozen creek, horses, and even a teepee?! You gotta be kiddin’ me!
Ashley and Mike are such a blast to hang out with. Our afternoon together was totally relaxed and filled with enjoyment, laughter, and good conversation. (And did I mention the teepee?!?) I can already tell that this will be the perfect spot for Ashley and Mike’s wedding–it is completely and totally “them.” I can hardly wait!
Friends and family, don’t forget that you can view all of Ashley and Mike’s photos, order prints, share to facebook, and more over at their full gallery!

Oh man. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this engagement session was. We began the morning (yes, morning–don’t you judge us!) with a bloody mary and pizza slice in hand on the awesome patio at Homeslice. The setting was perfect, the weather was warm, and the light was just begging to be captured!
Then, we moseyed over to St. Michael’s in Old Town, where Doug and Queena took a romantic bicycle ride around the church they’ll be married at next year. St. Michael’s itself is absolutely gorgeous, but the area around it is also lovely–with its tall trees, changing leaves, and quiet streets, it was perfect for these two lovebirds and their bikes!
We finished the day at the beach, and one of my favorite spots overlooking the Chicago skyline–a lovely patch of grass and trees with the most magnificent view of the city peeking through! Sunlight and water and low clouds hovering around the building… oh my!!
Queena and Doug are a delight to be around–they’re both so fun and easygoing, and completely head-over-heels for each other. I cannot WAIT for their wedding next May!!
Friends and family, you can see more photos from Queena and Doug’s engagement, share your favorites, and order prints over at their gallery. Enjoy!
Ohhhh my goodness. Jimmy and Sydney. This amazing couple. This AMAZING wedding. I don’t know where to begin!!
The first thing I noticed back in February while doing Sydney and Jimmy’s engagement session is the way they look at each other. I mean, they really look at each other. You can just see the love when they interact–whether it’s laughing, or sharing an emotional moment, or just a fleeting glance, the connection is obvious. These are two people who truly feel complete together.
And their family and friends! Such an amazing, supportive, loving group of people. The house was absolutely packed at their reception at the Carlisle, but it still felt like an intimate and familiar gathering. And everyone’s dancing shoes kept grooving late into the night!
Jimmy and Sydney, I feel so lucky to have been part of such a beautiful and happy celebration, and to capture a love like yours. From the mist lingering on the Chicago skyline as Sydney got ready in the morning, to the light filling the cathedral at St. Paul of the Cross, to the perfect warm fall evening at Cantigny, and the fairytale-level of pretty at the reception… it’s hard to imagine a more perfect day.
Family and friends–don’t forget you can view, share, and print all of the photos from Sydney and Jimmy’s big day right over here!

I knew Tricia and Mike were special from the moment I met them in person–seven months ago–for their engagement session. Adventurously braving the snow and equally as die-hard about Arrested Development as I, it was love at first sight and I was in total bliss knowing I would live happily ever after with both of them and their adorable wiener dogs Ozzie and Desmond. (Juuuust kidding. Oh geez this post is already getting weird and we’re only four sentences in. #BOUNDARIES, LAURA.)
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, there is some seriously awesome love going on between these two, as clearly illustrated by the photo evidence below. Tricia and Mike are hopelessly, undeniably, completely perfect for each other, and all I can say is that I’m eternally glad they found me and hired me as their photographer! It’s such a fantastic feeling to be so personally compatible with my subjects, and nothing makes me happier than to bring them joy through their photos.
Congratulations, Tricia and Mike! I know you two are currently in a private beach hut in the middle of paradise (jealous? me? what makes you say that?). But in the meantime, friends and family–head over here to check out more photos from Tricia and Mike’s big day, order prints, and share your favorites!
Originally built as a summer home by a New York railroad tycoon in 1851 and carefully restored to pristine condition, The Inn at Oneonta is truly a breathtaking piece of history–and the only remaining piece of the town of Oneonta, which was destroyed by the Flood of 1937. Over the years, the impressive three-story mansion has delighted guests traveling by railroad and steamboat, and, for one weekend in July of 2014, Megan and Bobby’s family and friends.
Quaint and secluded, the grounds of Oneonta made for a pretty, peaceful ceremony, and the outdoor reception area was the perfect site for a joyous bash that kept groovin’ late into the night. There’s something warm and familiar about Megan and Bobby’s love for each other, and it brings nothing but smiles to their faces and to anyone who’s around them. Add to the mix a lovely and warm summer evening, an infectiously fun wedding party, and delicious mint julep sweet tea on tap, and you’ve got one heck of a celebration!
Congratulations, Megan and Bobby! Friends and family, don’t forget that you can check out all of the photos from the big day and the rehearsal, order prints, and share to social media over on Bobby and Megan’s wedding page!
